We celebrated St. Patrick's Day early with shamrock hats, green muffins and a carnation science experiment. We were even lucky enough to have a visit from Sean Sean the Leprechaun. He left us gold coins, glittery shamrocks and a VERY messy classroom!
We have loved safety week here at Seaside! The children have learned about bike, water and fire safety. I am so proud of how seriously they have taken all of the information and apply it to their daily lives. They are still asking questions and love to share what they have learned! "We love kale!" This is what the children like to chant as we are walking back to the building from the Farm Garden. What an amazing opportunity the children are getting every week to experience such a wonderful, important and educational garden. The children like to munch on kale they have picked while Mr. Matt teaches them about worms, planting and growing food.
Today at Seaside, we celebrated Read Across America day along with Dr. Seuss' birthday! The children were greeted with Truffula trees by The Lorax (aka Miss Anderson) and invited to taste green eggs and ham at the Seuss Café. The children made pockets and of course wockets and their very own Lorax. We also got a visit from The Cat in the Hat (Ms. Sanders) and she read her very own book. Horton also visited and the children learned what it means to mean what you say and say what you mean |
